What you need
PlatformWindows PC
InputKeyboard and mouse
GraphicsHardware and driver support for classic OpenGL/Direct3D rendering
AudioWorking sound device; headphones are useful for positional audio
NetworkInternet connection for online multiplayer
StorageFree space for the client plus downloaded maps, sounds and server resources
Modern PC considerations
Raw hardware performance is rarely the problem on a modern computer. Compatibility, graphics drivers, display settings and permissions are more likely to matter. Keep enough free disk space because community servers may download additional maps and resources.
Network considerations
For multiplayer, a stable connection is preferable to raw download speed. High latency, packet loss or unstable Wi-Fi can make movement and hit registration feel inconsistent.
Before downloading
Check the installation guide for basic safety and setup steps, then use the download page to choose a mirror.
